The City of Salida ( is accepting applications for Assistant City Administrator.  The purpose of this position is to provide assistance and support to the City Administrator and Department Heads in day-to-day operations of the City. The position manages special projects, sustainability initiatives, housing programs and projects, and the oversight of Human Resources for employees of the City.  Serves as a member of the City’s Management Team.  Performs a variety of supervisory, technical and administrative tasks such as planning, budgeting, coordinating and directing the overall operations and activities within the organization.  Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or Human Resource Management or comparable.  Master’s degree in Public Administration or related field is preferred.  Three to five years of relevant experience is required, or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Experience should be progressively responsible, including project management and supervisory experience.  Professional Human Resources (PHR or SPHR) certification preferred.   Previous municipal experience is preferred.  Salary Range: $91,171 – $136,756/year (hiring range up to $113,963) plus benefits, including medical/dental/vision insurance plans, 401(a) and 457 retirement plan options with employer match, Personal Time Off accrual, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability benefits, and a swim benefit at the Salida Hot Springs Aquatic Center.  Those interested in the position may find more information and apply online at  Deadline for applications is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022.  The City of Salida is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
