The Jackson County Board of Commissioners is seeking applications from qualified individuals with relevant experience in the managerial oversight of government functions. Communication, honesty, and the ability to participate in or develop a team-based culture are key characteristics
that applicants must display. This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking individual to help organize and progress an entity that has a solid financial foundation. The selected applicant will need to bring the Jackson County government and community together through collaboration and maintaining an open-mind throughout their tenure.

Applicants must be able to uphold these values and become involved in the community in order to fully understand its needs and wants. Having an approachable demeanor, good sense of humor, and the ability to listen will go far in a community where everyone will know your name.
As a key component in the functionality of the Jackson County government, applicants who are able to provide professional and personal experience in effectively managing various departments will be more likely to succeed. Trusting, providing support, handling situations fairly, and mentoring department heads and all county employees will aid in establishing the culture that this Board would like to help develop. Applicants will be expected to display the ability to responsibly manage finances, proactively solve potential issues, and encourage a positive workplace.
Ultimately, this Board is looking for a long-term leader for our community. This individual will need to be a consistent presence and voice of reason for an ever-changing atmosphere.
